Confederate 1st. National Flag

#FL01 Confederate 1st. National Flag. This flag was also known as the Stars and Bars. It was first raised over the capital building in Montgomery, March 4, 1861.It had seven stars representing the states belonging to the Confederacy at that time. During the remainder of that year six more states were added bringing the total to thirteen. During battle the final version of this flag was sometimes confused with the Union Stars and Stripes. Confederate 2nd. National Flag

#FL02 Confederate 2nd. National Flag. This flag was also known as Stainless because of the white background which represented the purity of the Cause. One of the first official uses of this flag was to drape the coffin of General Stonewall Jackson as his body lay in state in the Confederate House of Representatives. Confederate 3rd. National Flag

#FL03 Confederate 3rd. National Flag.3'x5'. This flag was also known as the Last National flag. It was adopted in 1865 because the white background of the 2nd National flag could be mistaken as a flag of surrender. This flag flew for 36 days in 1865 until the surrender on April 9th. C. S. A. Naval Jack Battle Flag

#FL04 C. S. A. Naval Jack Battle Flag. Also known as the Southern Cross. This was the flag of the Confederate Navy. It was rectangular instead of square and does not have the white outside border.
