Tombstone Outfitters
Carpetbags are all handmade in Wyoming. We use the finest
materials and hardware available. We do not reproduce the same colors
over and over. Many of the fabrics used are one of a kind, some
costing as much as $80.00 per yard. When the customer purchases a
Tombstone Outfitters carpetbag, they have a unique product not one
like 500 others. All leather components such as handles and straps are
made in our own shop. We use only the finest heavy English bridle
leather tanned in the U.S. This
is not the thin, lightweight leather seen on other bags. Our bags are
assembled using solid copper hand set harness rivets. These are set
completely through the frame. Other bag makers use pop rivets and
decorative upholstery tacks that do nothing to add to the strength and
durability of the bag. Our large bags have 14 solid copper rivets in
the frame alone, making them the strongest made. Our straps run the
entire circumference of the bag and are attached with solid copper
rivets top and bottom. They buckle over the frame using solid brass
harness roller buckles. This feature gives our bags the most load
capacity in the business. The feet used on the bottoms of our bags are
true luggage hardware and are anchored completely through the rigid
bottom. Other makers use decorative leather spots that are only
crimped into the bottom cloth at each corner and serve no real
purpose. Tombstone Outfitters large Carpetbags have luggage feet at
all corners as well as two in the center for excellent load support.
All of our bags are lined and have inside pockets as well as the main
